WHO WE ARE

Vitropep is pioneering applications for therapeutic peptides using painless, concentrated dissolving microneedles to treat acute and chronic illnesses.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to enhance treatment efficacy and improve the quality of life for patients.

Meet Our Founder

Dr. Christophe Tarabout leads Vitropep with a passion for innovation and a deep-seated belief in the transformative potential of stable amorphous peptides. His journey began at Institut de physique de Rennes, where he immersed himself in self-assembling peptide research, earning a Ph.D. in Physics and laying the foundation for his groundbreaking work.

The Power of Peptides

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins. They serve as crucial messengers within the body, controlling various processes. From regulating hormones to facilitating cell communication, peptides play a vital role in maintaining our health and well-being.

Dr. Tarabout's expertise in peptide science led him to research the characterization and mineralization of self-assembling nanotubes, focusing on analogs of Lanreotide peptides.

Dr. Tarabout was awarded a prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship to pursue postdoctoral studies at the Max-Planck Institute of Potsdam in Germany. In 2014, he made a pivotal discovery: Peptides can exhibit a stable supramolecular glass state for long periods of time. This discovery holds significant medical promise.

This breakthrough paved the way for novel applications in drug delivery and biomaterial development. Dr. Tarabout designed the first microneedle patch of glass peptide in May 2021 and went on to found Vitropep in July 2022.

Vitropep’s research into glass peptides led to the development of a new type of microneedle patch to inject peptide drugs in an easy, stabilized, painless way. At Vitropep, we are shaping the future of improved health care. Join us on our journey as we harness the power of peptides to transform lives and pave the way for a healthier tomorrow.
